Today some of our local Youth Council put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test as they โescapedโ from a couple of escape rooms at 'Xscape Space' in Richmond! It was a really fun day, and a well-deserved reward for all the time and energy these young people have given back to our community over the past few months.
Over summer and autumn, Youth Council members have volunteered at a range of local events including the Hoedown, Christmas Gala, A&P Show, and the 150th celebrations. While theyโre only a small group, there are always two or three willing to put their hands up and help out โ fitting it all around school, work, sport, and family commitments.
They are a great bunch of young people and true leaders in our community.
The Youth Council exists to be the voice of Murchisonโs young people to the TDC, and to help ensure there are opportunities, activities, and services for young people in our rural community.
Weโre always keen to welcome new members, so if you're aged between 12 and 24 years, and would like to get involved, we meet monthly at the Rec Centre.
