Welcome to the Murchison Sport, Recreation & Cultural Centre — the heart of the Murchison community and beyond.

Our mission is to deliver and promote recreational, social, and cultural opportunities by providing an accessible and affordable centre for the people of the Tasman and West Coast regions.

The Centre is managed by Michelle Pugh, our on-site Manager, who is supported by a dedicated team of enthusiastic locals serving on the Murchison Sport, Recreation & Cultural Centre Board.

We are a non-profit incorporated society that relies on the goodwill, generosity, and support of our community and local volunteers to keep the Centre sustainable and thriving.

The Murchison Sport, Recreation & Cultural Centre Board is responsible for providing effective governance. Board Members ensure the organisation remains focused on its vision for the future, with all activities aligned to support that vision. Their key responsibility is to uphold the Centre’s purpose and ensure accountability to the stakeholders and community members who benefit from its success.

With year-round recreation, stunning scenery, and a friendly, forward-thinking community, Murchison is attracting urbanites, retirees, and businesses to this vibrant rural town. As a result, the Community Centre serves a diverse, multicultural population of all ages.

We offer a wide range of recreational programs and activities throughout the year, along with special seasonal events. There’s something for everyone in our busy schedule — and if there’s something you’d like to see added, just let us know.

Community events help keep us connected, and our venue is also available for hire for meetings, conferences, and social occasions. We hope you’ll become a regular visitor to the Centre — and to our new website — to stay up to date with what’s happening.
